A beautiful mourning brooch, made of many seed pearls which have been finely entwined using clear wire, and are backed with a carved mother of pearl plaque. In the centre is a glass locket compartment, which houses a small lock of hair. The reverse shows a small portrait of a gentleman. With a gold pin and 'C' catch fitting.
Circa late Georgian - early Victorian era.
Unmarked, fittings tested as gold.

The glass locket compartment measures approximately 12.2mm x 8.4mm.
The approximate weight is 5.8 grams.
CONDITION: Overall very good, with some light wear commensurate with age including some light discolouration to the pearls as shown.
