
A fine example of an antique sovereign holder case crafted in sterling silver, the outer shell with engine-turned engraving. The front has a cartouche surrounded by a belt, in which are the engraved initials "CW". Inside the spring-loaded compartment is sized to hold full sovereigns. The inner case is fully hallmarked and stamped. A beautiful holder from the mid-Edwardian period in fantastic antique condition.
Hallmarked as sterling silver, dated Birmingham 1905.
Maker's mark "ALD" for Aaron Lufkin Dennison, which later became Dennison Watch Case Co in 1906.
The overall measurements are approximately 50.3mm (L) x 34.3mm (W).
The approximate weight is 22.1 grams.
