
A delightful Edwardian era bar brooch, featuring a shamrock to the centre, set with a blue sapphire, all mounted in 9ct yellow gold. The shamrock is an iconic symbol of Ireland, and derives from the Irish word for "young clover".
Hallmarked as 9ct gold, with a Chester assay mark. The date letter is a little unclear, but appears to be circa 1902.
The brooch measures approximately 38mm long.
The shamrock measures approximately 14 x 16mm.
The approximate weight is 1.6 grams.
