An antique gold brooch, featuring a cabochon oval-shaped opal with strong plays of colour to the centre, surrounded by twelve white pearls. With a pin and 'C' catch fitting. A stunning Victorian-era piece which looks right at home on a dark jacket or scarf. There is also a small pendant loop, which could have a jump ring attached allowing this piece to be worn as a pendant.
Unmarked, tested as 9ct gold.
The brooch measures approximately 18.2mm x 15mm.
The opal measures approximately 8.1mm x 6mm.
The approximate weight is 2.4 grams.
