A delightful antique heart-shaped locket, with beautiful detailing to both sides; one side features a cross, and the other an entwined anchor and rope. The three symbols of the cross, anchor and heart represent "Faith, Hope and Charity".
Circa 1900.
Unmarked, tested as 9ct gold back & front.
"Back & Front" was a technique widely used in Victorian and Edwardian jewellery. It consists of a 9ct gold shell encasing a metal core.
The pendant measures approximately 34 x 26mm.
The approximate weight is 7.0 grams.
Please note that the chain pictured is for display purposes only. Thank you.
CONDITION: In good antique condition. The locket opens and closes as it should. There is a small pinhole to the edge of one side as shown, but this is hard to notice without scrutinizing. The cross has some light indentations as shown.
